Trunk or Treat
The day before Juliet was born, we did trunk or treat at the church. Lots of fun for my little lady bug!

Juliet Sierra Truscott is here
The wonderful labor and delivery story....
Everyone seems to want to ask- how did it go? Well, spoiler alert, here is how it went:
My sister-in-law, Natalie, and I both were due this past week. I on the 28th and she on the 29th. I've really enjoyed talking to her throughout the pregnancy and noting differences. Once I hit 39 weeks, Natalie's enthusiasm and eagerness for her little one to join their family made me very anxious and eager for my baby to come early, too! But, I had felt absolutely nothing. No little contractions or indications at all that our little Juliet was ready to come see us. Finally, on Saturday, October 22nd, small contractions began and stopped. Tuesday rolled around and I felt a couple more. Looking forward to the ward's Trunk or Treat activity, I had already ruled out having the baby on Wednesday, so little happened on that day :) Thursday morning, I started having contractions at 9. They were about every 10 minutes. I had a doctor's appointment at 1:15pm and figured if this was the real deal, I would know by then. Yet, watching Violet proved to be more difficult around 10:30 am when the contractions started hurting. So, I ran a few errands, dropped her off at a friend's, and told David he was coming with me to my doctor's appointment. We got there and then were sent to the hospital as I was 4 cm dilated. I went from 4cm to 7 cm in an hour and a half. Props to those that can do hypnobirthing. For me, we used its techniques as comic relief... David would make ocean breeze noises to make me laugh through my tears. Yes, I felt like a baby around 7cm since I didn't have any pain medication and did scream. But luckily, I went from 7cm to greeting Juliet in 3 and a half minutes. Enjoy the pictures! (More on facebook)

A Slice of Heaven
We just returned from Floyd, VA, where our dear friends the Light and Pederson family live. 78 acres of heaven. Violet enjoyed a lot of firsts and other activities, including: riding a pony, driving a 4-wheeler, riding in a carriage pulled by the pony, petting a horse and a bunny, seeing cows and chickens, playing in a creek, hearing her dad fiddle around with his 'fangers' and loving country life. I think I might have even swayed David a little to desire life in the country more than the city.

Summer is here!
Piggy Bank
Violet loves her piggy bank and has gathered quite the collection of coins. Recently, Violet discovered the bigger hole on the bottom of her piggy bank and decided she liked that one better.

Violet's first big fall...
Unfortunately, our HOA doesn't think our sidewalks have yet reached the "unsafe" status. Thus, all in front of our townhouse is the rockiest sidewalk you will ever come across. Poor Violet was playing with our neighbor Autumn and fell planting her face into the rocks and cutting her lip. As a new mother, I panicked when I saw all the blood, grabbed wet paper towels, and called David to come home (thinking she would need to go get stitches). Luckily, it wasn't that severe and all part of Violet's plan to get her daddy home a little early.

Violet the Tool Gal Truscott
Violet decided to fix her pony. She really would not let me help her change the batteries. She's so independent already. We also had her 12 month check up. She is a healthy one. Her height in the 80th percentile and her weight in the 25th percentile (that dropped a little due to her recent walking and little sickness- so don't be alarmed!).

Violet turns one!
This weekend was incredibly eventful with David flying to Boston, Violet turning one year old and having a party at the park, and worse of all, Violet getting a high fever. I've enjoyed reading my sister's blog so many times and feeling more a part of her life (although she lives too many miles away!) that I decided to join the world of the bloggers.
So fellow bloggers, friends, and family, please enjoy the tantalizing Truscotts and all their many adventures!
